Terms of Service
These terms explain the rules for using GreatAutomate. They are written to be read, so please take a few minutes.
1. Agreement
By using the website, the online tools, your account or the developer API (together, the "Service") you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
2. The service
The Service provides online tools to work with PDF and office documents, for example to merge, split, compress, convert, rotate, organize, edit, sign, watermark, protect and unlock files. Tools may be added, improved or retired over time. Guests can use the tools with a small daily allowance; accounts and paid plans get higher allowances and extra features as described on the Pricing page.
3. Your files
- Your files stay yours. You keep all rights to the documents you upload and the results you download. We claim no ownership of them.
- We only process them to deliver your result. Uploaded files are processed in memory on our own servers solely to perform the task you requested. We do not read, index, share or sell your documents, and we do not use them to train models.
- Automatic deletion. Results are kept for a short time so you can download them, then deleted automatically. Results created through the developer API are streamed back and never stored. You can also delete a result from your dashboard at any time.
- Your responsibility. You confirm that you have the right to process every file you upload, and you are responsible for keeping your own copies. The Service is not a storage or backup service.
4. Accounts
You must give accurate information when you create an account, keep your password safe and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use. New accounts may need to be activated by an administrator. One person may not create several accounts to get around daily allowances. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to create an account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's copyright or privacy, or that you are not allowed to process;
- use the Service to remove protection from documents you are not entitled to open, or to forge signatures or documents;
- upload malware or files crafted to attack or overload our systems;
- bypass allowances, file limits or access controls, scrape the site, or resell the Service without written permission;
- share an API key outside your own organisation or use the Service in a way that degrades it for others.
We may block tasks, limit access or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
6. Plans & payment
- Paid plans are sold as monthly or yearly subscriptions, or as one-time passes for a fixed number of days, at the prices shown on the Pricing page.
- Payments are processed by our payment partners Dodo Payments or Polar, who act as merchant of record and may add taxes depending on your country. We never see your full card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. One-time passes never renew and expire automatically.
- Cancellations and refunds are handled under the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Daily allowances reset every day at midnight UTC. Failed tasks do not count against your allowance.
7. Developer API
API keys are issued by an administrator and are personal to your account or organisation. Keep them secret; you are responsible for all usage made with your keys. Each key has its own allowance and may be rate limited. We may revoke keys that are leaked or misused. The API is described in the API documentation and may change with reasonable notice.
8. Availability
We work hard to keep the Service fast and available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may pause processing for maintenance; paid plans keep working during most maintenance windows. Results depend on the quality and structure of the input files, and a converted document may not match the original exactly.
9. Liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 10 USD if you use the Service for free. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. When an account is closed, its remaining results are deleted and unused paid time is handled according to the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes we give notice on the site or by e-mail before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
