Questions, answered

Is GreatAutomate free?
Yes. Guests can run 3 tasks a day without an account, and a free account raises that to 25 tasks a day. Pro is for people who need more tasks, bigger files or API access.
Are my files safe?
Your uploads are processed on our own servers and are never shared with third parties. Results are kept for 1 hour so you can download them, then deleted automatically. You can also press "Delete now" on the result screen. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
Which file types are supported?
PDF for most tools, plus JPG, PNG, WebP and other images, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint (PPTX) and plain text for the "to PDF" converters. Each tool page lists exactly what it accepts.
How big can my files be?
Guests can upload files up to 15 MB, free accounts up to 50 MB and Pro up to 200 MB per file. Up to 30 files can go into a single task.
What counts as a task?
One successful run of a tool, however many files you upload for it. For example, merging 10 PDFs counts as one task. Failed attempts do not count. Allowances reset every day.
Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
First remove the password with Unlock PDF (you need to know the password), then use any other tool. To add a password, use Protect PDF.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. All tools work in mobile browsers on iOS and Android. You can pick files from your device, from iCloud or Google Drive, or straight from the camera roll.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every tool is also available through a simple REST API with API-key authentication. See the API documentation and request a key.
